REGISTRATION DAY
SUNDAY FEBRUARY 8, 2009
BALWYN SOCIAL CLUB
BALWYN PARK, CHERRY ROAD, BALWYN
11AM TILL 1PM
Is there such a thing as an “off season” in football?
….not at the Balwyn Tigers!
The club’s committee and coaches are busily preparing for 2009, ensuring that the Tigers will be ready to roar come that first game of the season.
As such, registration day has been set down for
SUNDAY FEBRUARY 8, 2009.
This is an opportunity for current and new players to come along, meet their coaches and have a soft drink and BBQ on us.
In addition, many of the Balwyn Seniors premiership players will be there to help the boys freshen up their skills.
We especially encourage new players to the club who, on registration, will receive a club jacket and kit bag.
There’ll also be customised fitting of mouthguards available on the day.

Club History
Balwyn Junior Football Club (BJFC) was established in 1916. It has a long and proud history of developing young boys into skilful and determined players, with many going on to play seniors football and some playing AFL. Former BJFC players currently playing in the AFL include Luke Power (Brisbane Lions Premiership Player), Sam Power (Kangaroos) and Leigh Montagna (St Kilda).
In 2007 we proudly announced the clubs merger with Balwyn Auskick. This exciting development brings over 100 new members to the club. Balwyn Junior Football Club can now offer a true progression for local children - from Auskick, through all levels of junior football and, with our close relationship with the Balwyn Football Club, to senior football in Victoria’s premier Eastern Football League.
We are a club that is focused on participation and self improvement, providing our players with the highest possible standards of coaching, facilities and equipment to enhance their football skills and make their time at BJFC memorable and enjoyable. We are also a social club, with monthly Family Nights at our club rooms and a variety of other functions through-out the season.
The Balwyn Junior Football Club was one of the first clubs in the Yarra Junior Football League to make the use of helmets compulsory for players in its Under 9s (Tackers) teams. In 2007 the Committee extended the provision of helmets up to the Under 11 age group.
It is certainly an exciting time at the Club with the announcement of the first stage of the redevelopment of our club rooms and pavilion, which will provide our players with the most up-to-date facilities in the Yarra League.
