Balwyn Junior Football Club’s annual medal for the player in the club’s most senior team who displays “Best and Fairest” values on and off the field
The Luke and Sam Power Award was introduced in 2003. It is presented annually to recognise the player in the club’s most senior team who best displays values on and off the field that epitomise those we hold high in Australian Rules Football and in life.
In selecting this player, BJFC considers the following criteria:
On field
Off field
The award is named in honour of current AFL players Luke and Sam Power, who played their junior football with Balwyn Junior Football Club. Luke is now a Premiership player with the Brisbane Lions and Sam plays with the Western Bulldogs.
The Power brothers are highly regarded by Club members. They continue their association with the club and continue to display the values that form the basis of the award named after them.
BJFC is delighted that Luke and Sam agreed to the establishment of this award in recognition their achievements. The Luke and Sam Power Award serves as an inspiration to those boys who aspire to follow their paths into the ranks of the AFL.
